Born in 1984 in Bogotá, Colombia. Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Originally from Colombia and now based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he is co-founder of Residencia Coordenadas, curator Julián León Camargo brings a perspective shaped by migration and displacement, not only as elements of his personal history, but also as epistemological tools. He explores issues of mobility (of bodies, images, ideas) as generators for new forms of belonging and the reconfiguration of dominant cultural narratives. He is particularly drawn to works and discourses that challenge institutional boundaries and fixed identities, and consider ambiguity as a resource.
Julían León Camargo is welcomed by A·R as part of the nomadic curatorial residency organized by Arts en résidence - Réseau national and Red Quincho - residencias de arte en Argentina, with the support of Fondation Williams. This residency is coordinate with la malterie arts visuels, la Métive and thankyouforcoming.
Designed to develop the recipient's professional network and enrich their research through encounters and exchanges with local art scenes, the program will also provide an opportunity to examine the structure of the French residency network and the professional practices of its members, with the aim of reporting on these findings and contributing to the reflection of structures in Argentina.
Artistes en résidence opens its doors and invites visitors to meet and welcome Julían León Camargo, a Colombian artist and curator living in Argentina. Welcomed as part of the nomadic curatorial residency coordinated by Arts en Résidence— Réseau national and Red Quincho—residencias de arte en Argentina, he will introduce his work during a presentation and discussion beginning at 7 p.m. This residency is organized with La Malterie Arts Visuels, La Métive, and thankyouforcoming, with the support of the Fundación Williams.
This event will also be an opportunity for Natalia Domínguez and Doris Hardeman to share the research and results of their respective residencies, a cross-residency with Barcelona on the one hand, and a 100-day residency on the other.

Coming from different geographical and cultural backgrounds, Doris Hardeman (BE/NL) and Natalia Dominguez (ES) have drawn on local resources in Clermont-Ferrand to experiment with new forms in the making. None of the displayed pieces are considered final works, but stages of experimentation that will continue to unfold and evolve through time. Their formal research has been enriched by their observations of local industry and architecture, whereas their materials come from local car scrapyards, recycling centres, second-hand shops and specialised industrial suppliers, among others. This local anchoring does not prevent them from considering more widely shared issues such as power dynamics, extractivism, and strategies for protecting and controlling bodies. The installations they unfold throughout the space of La Diode exude both great aesthetic sensitivity and a playful character, but also a certain violence, softened by the sensuality of the textures and colours used.
