Multicoloured cassette sleeves, neon pink cardboard stage sets, voices transformed by Auto-Tune chanting stories of life, fingers turning knobs, hands pulling cables, coloured spotlights, people of different ages and sensibilities bustling around a technical set… Silence! Action…
Bicolore is a duo formed by Simon Poligné and Valentin Ferré, both visual artists and musicians. But Bicolore is also much more than that: it is an ephemeral collective buzzing around a space and time of collaborative creation, bringing together—without hierarchy—the skills and brilliant ideas of all participants, blending painting, sculpture, music, storytelling, video and sound effects. For their co-creation residency in Clermont-Ferrand, Bicolore is working with a group of young people supported by the DITEP in Montferrand to produce a TV programme from start to finish. Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of Michel Gondry and programmes such as Téléchat, the artists – that is to say, the young people as well as the professionals – share their visions through a joyful, DIY aesthetic. Beneath the apparent fragility of the forms thus assembled lies a collective capacity to reclaim the world using our own resources.
